The cover names The Cellar of Heaven and lists three sections: the upper-middle-class prince, high-school alcohol wars, and the time before the road.

The quoted reminder about a blue suede jacket and a white silk scarf puts clothing beside the section headings. Class and adolescent drinking are announced before any scene begins.

A handwritten cover page labelled 'Title' announces 'THE CELLAR of HEAVEN' and lists three parts: 'THE UPPER MIDDLE CLASS PRINCE - I', 'II' 'THE Highschool Alcohol Wars', and 'III Before The Road'. Between the title and the parts sits a quoted reminder, 'Don't forget your blue suede jacket; / And white silk scarf'.

The page works as a title card and rough table of contents, sketching an arc from privileged youth through teenage drinking to the time before the road. The quoted clothing line sets style and class as the first image, before any story begins. It is written over envelope material, which suggests the plan was set down on whatever paper was at hand.
